Replica Placement Strategy Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process in Heterogeneous Cloud Data Storage

چکیده

Cloud data storage platforms have attracted increasing attention in data management. Data replication is a well-known technique that reduces access latency, thus improving cloud data storage availability and performance. Nonetheless, replica placement algorithms are among the significant issues in data replication, which affect data availability and access performance considerably. Replica placement algorithms determine where data replicas can be located in the data storage system. Replica placement is a classical Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) problem. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is a structured technique for organizing and analyzing complex decisions based on mathematics and psychology. In this study, we present a replica placement algorithm based on AHP(RPAHP) in heterogeneous cloud data storage. Simulation results show that the RPAHP strategy performs better than other replica creation strategies in terms of average response time.
